CJCSC Gen Shamshad didn’t visit Adiala Jail to meet Imran Khan

A clip circulating on social media claimed that the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza arrived at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi to meet jailed PTI leader Imran Khan.

The clip was widely circulated on several pro-PTI accounts on X claimed an “important personality” – presumed to be Gen Sahir Shamshad – had visited the prison to meet with the former prime minister to discuss the fallout from the election.

It was also reported that current PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar and Sher Afzal Marwat was there to discuss the post-election scenario.

Although the veracity of news whether Gen Shamshad indeed met the former prime minister in jail has not been confirmed  by any source, the clip of the military leader arriving is incorrect.

The clip shows a small escort of vehicles of the Rangers following a couple of cars with green number plates.

The clip also has a logo of news channel, Talon News HD, but a careful analysis showed it was not present on the media outlet’s social media pages.

The protocol and security detail that has been shown in the video is not that of the CJCSC. Hence, FactPakistan Pakistan concluded that the video does not show the military leader arriving at Adiala Jail to meet the former PM.

Cheif of Joint staff Gen Shamshad Akhtar arrived at Adiyala jail, Barrister Gohar and Sher afzal marwat also arrived at adiyala jail while president arif alvi is on his way to adiyala jail.
