Video of ‘CIA headquarters’ attack in Dubai relates to 2015 building fire in Sharjah
A video shows a fire eruption in a high-rise building with the claim that the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) headquarters in Dubai was targeted in a drone strike by Iran.
The reports gained traction after several buildings were targeted in Dubai by Iranian drone and missile strikes, including the Dubai international airport, Jebel Ali port, Burj al Arab hotel, Burj Khalifa, and a hotel on Palm Jumeirah island.
An X account posted the video with caption in Arabic stating, “A building housing Americans was struck in Dubai just moments ago.” The video uploaded March 1, 2026, has 1.5 million views.

Fact Check Pakistan found the claim is baseless and misleading, while the video is old unrelated.
The footage relates to a fire that broke out on a residential building in Sharjah, UAE, more than ten years ago in October 2015.
This was covered in the media. A video by Gulf News shows the building on fire. The visuals match those shown in the viral video.
The report states that a massive fire erupted at Nasser Tower on King Fasial Street in Sharjah. Around 250 families were evacuated from the 32-storey building which consists of 26 residential floors and six levels of car parking. The fire was brought under control two hours after civil defence received the first fire alert.
A report in Arab News on Oct 1, 2015, titled, “High-rise tower catches fire in Emirati city of Sharjah.” An accompanying picture shows the building on fire.
There are no verified or credible reports indicating that the video is recent or related to any Iranian missile strike in Dubai. There are no reports of an alleged CIA office in Dubai.
