Video of Aleema Khan’s interview blaming army chief for Pakistan-India war is doctored

A video has been circulating online of PTI founder Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, giving an interview to anchor person Yalda Hakim, alleging that army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir was responsible for orchestrating the war with India fought earlier this year in May.

The video also claims that Aleema called the army chief an ‘Islamist fundamentalist’ and also blames him for the attack on Hindu tourists in Pahalgam, Indian-held Kashmir.

The video is doctored and digitally manipulated and an attempt by India-based social media propaganda accounts to spread misinformation.

Yalda Hakim, in post on X, also expressed concern over the “terrifying deepfake” of her interview with Aleema Khan.

“It falsely claims we discussed the Pakistan-India war earlier this year. We did NOT. This clip is completely fake,” she said.

The original video posted by Yalda Hakim does not mention the Pakistan-India war neither does Aleema Khan blame the army chief for the conflict.

The video relates to Aleema saying that Imran Khan is being held in solitary confinement and is being mentally tortured.

The video of the complete interview was posted by Sky News on X and on their YouTube channel. Fact Check Pakistan searched the entire video and the remarks were not mentioned.

Thus, the claims that Aleema Khan blamed the army chief for the Pakistan-Indian war in May are false.
