Israeli PM’s video on targeting Pakistan’s nuclear weapons after Iran is from 2011 and misleading

A viral video showing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu saying that Pakistan’s nuclear weapons will be targeted after Iran is misleading and has been distorted.

The video shared on social media shows the Israeli PM claiming to threaten Pakistan’s nuclear capability, saying his goal is to prevent Iran and Pakistan from acquiring nuclear weapons. He is also heard saying that Pakistan will be the country targeted next after Iran.

A user @shadowed_news shared that 30-second long clip with the caption, “We have to stop Iran first and then Pakistan to have nuclear weapons. Netanyahu. If Iran fall, Pakistan is next.”

The video posted here has been viewed 909,000 times.

The video was shared by advocacy group DOAM with X handle @doamuslims with the caption, “Netanyahu: Pakistan is next.”

Another verified user @AdameMedia, whose profile claims he is an analyst and commentator, shared the video with the caption, “Pakistan is next. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu once said dealing that after dealing with Iran, Israeli would turn its attention to Pakistan.”

In the video, Netanyahu can be heard saying: “The greatest mission that we have is to prevent the militant Islamic regime from meeting up with nuclear weapons — or from nuclear weapons meeting up with the Islamic regime. The first is called Iran, and the second is called P

akistan. Because if these radical regimes have nuclear weapons, they will not obey the rules that have been obeyed in the last almost seven decades.”

Fact Check Pakistan determined that statement is not recent or related to the ongoing Israeli Iran conflict but was made in March 2011.

It was also determined that the video has been edited and a portion when the Israeli PM mentioned about a Taliban takeover of Pakistan and preventing the country’s nuclear weapons falling in the hands of rogue elements has been omitted.

The original video relates an interview aired on March 31, 2011, by Israeli news outlet Channel 2.  Netanyahu made the remarks at the 25:43-minute mark.

In the original video, Netanyahu can be heard saying at 26:04-minute mark: “The second is called Pakistan, or more specifically a Taliban takeover of Pakistan.” This has been edited from the video posted on social media.

Fact Check determines that video is not related to the ongoing Israel Iran conflict that began on June 13, 2025. It was also determined the video is altered and misleading, and the Israeli PM did not threat Pakistan or its nuclear weapons.
