FALSE: Pakistan flag was not raised during Bangladesh protests

A picture has been circulating since yesterday claiming that a Pakistan flag was seen raised and flown by a protester in Bangladesh.

The picture went viral after protests in Bangladesh led to the ouster of prime minister Sheikh Hasina who resigned and left the country.

The picture has been shared on social media platforms notably X, formerly Twitter, and Instagram mostly by Pakistani users.

Fact Check Pakistan has determined the claim in UNTRUE and the picture is not from the protests in Bangladesh.

This picture is from a pro-Palestine protest held in New York in October 2023 and has nothing to do with any protest in Bangladesh.
