FAKE: Serene Air flight operation is not suspended due to equipment theft

A social media post claims that flight operations of private airline Serene Air have been suspended due to massive thefts of critical spare parts and employees have fled after committing these actions.

A post by an online outlet Wow 30 says, “Due to the theft of critical aircraft components and equipment, including engines, engine oil, tires, electronic devices, microphones, radar systems, navigation instruments, and GPS units, along with incidents of overtime billing, unauthorized training courses, and other fraudulent activities, Serene Air has suffered serious economic operational and financial losses.

“Several employees involved fled after committing these acts, resulting in the airline’s non operational status. Serene Air is actively pursuing criminal and legal action against those responsible.”

The statement is fake. Neither the private airline nor the aviation regulator has issued any statement regarding the reasons for the suspension of the airline’s flight operation.

The airline issued a statement denying the reports saying it is “aware of false and misleading information” circulating about its operations.

It urged passengers to rely only on our official channels website, verified social media pages, and press releases for accurate updates.

“Our teams are working tirelessly to resume flights and bring back all stranded passengers safely,” it added.

Earlier the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority has suspended Serene Air’s Air Operator Certificate, grounding all domestic and international flights with immediate effect.

According to an official notification, Serene Air failed to meet the regulatory requirement of maintaining the minimum prescribed fleet size. At present, the airline has “zero serviceable aircraft available for operations,” making it unfit to sustain safe and reliable flights.

Under such circumstances, the aviation regulator stated, the airline cannot continue to operate in accordance with PCAA rules and regulations. The suspension effectively halts the airline’s entire schedule until further notice.
