FAKE: Indian flag was not raised during AJK protests
Social media users falsely claimed that the Indian flag was hoisted by the ongoing protests in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
An Indian user on social media site X posted a picture with the caption, “The Indian flag 🇮🇳 was hoisted in Rawalakot (POJK), Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, during a protest against the Pakistan Army and Police.”
An Indian online media outlet Times Algebra also posted the following picture with a similar caption. Several other social media users also posted the picture.
Fact Check Pakistan has concluded that the picture is FAKE and has been manipulated.
Another picture of the location does not show the presence of the Indian tri-colour flag. The picture of the flag shows the flag of Azad Kashmir but not the Indian flag.
There was no instance of the Indian flag being raised in any part of Azad Kashmir. Attached is the original photo from the protest site.
