Fact Check: Imran Khan was not a classmate of UAE PM Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid at Oxford
YouTuber and self-styled independent journalist Asad Toor claimed that UAE President Mohammad Bin Zayed inquire Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif about Imran Khan.
Toor claimed that UAE President told PM Shehbaz Sharif that UAE Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid, is a friend and classmate of Imran Khan at Oxford University, and is concerned about the well-being of the jailed Pakistani prime minister.
Fact Check:
In 1972, Imran Khan enrolled in Keble College, Oxford where he studied philosophy, politics and economics, graduating in 1975.
While Imran Khan studied at Oxford, he was not a classmate of the UAE royal or studied at a time when he was there.
According to his biography, Sheikh Mohammed finished his secondary education in Dubai, he studied English in Cambridge, England, and later received military training at a cadet school in Aldershot.
An older version of Sheikh Mohammad with a young Imran Khan is reported taken at Ascot races, rather than the cricketer-turned-politician’s day at Oxford.
