Video showing woman hurling threats against Jews in New York is not Pakistani
India-based social media users shared a post claiming a ‘Pakistan origin migrant’ made extremist remarks and hurled threats against Jews in New York. The post implied the incident happened due to the city’s first Muslim mayor Zohran Mamdani.
An India based X user, known for posting against Pakistan, shared a post stating, “Meet Noora Shalash, a Pakistan origin migrant and Director of Government Affairs for CAIR-Kentucky, USA. She yells “I demand Jihad, I want ISIS to kill all of you.” This is what Zohran Mamdani wants.”
The video is old and unrelated. Fact Check Pakistan found the video on several X accounts relating to February this year.

A X user, Jason Curtis Anderson, posted a video on Feb 7, captioned, “Meet Noora Shalash, Director of Government Affairs for CAIR-Kentucky.
”She really let the mask slip that this is a harmless civil rights organization when she yells “I demand Jihad, I want ISIS to kill all of you.”
The X user then posted a picture dated October 1, 2020, claiming the woman was a director of the Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR), the largest Muslim organization, in the United States.

In a reply on X, CAIR condemned the incident but acknowledged the woman worked for them.
“This is a lie. This person has not worked with our CAIR-KY chapter in FIVE years. She has no role at our civil rights group.
“We condemn and reject the antisemitic comments in the video, just as we condemn and reject anti-Palestinian racism and anti-Muslim hate. Racism is wrong, no matter the source or the target.”

Anti Jew Database, an organization working against anti Semitism, identified the woman as Noora Shalash, a former director of CAIR in Kentucky.

She was born in Amman, Jordan, and raised in Lexington, Kentucky. Her LinkedIn profile reveals she was a student at University of Kentucky and a Member, Board of Directors, CAIR, from 2016 to 2020.
It has been concluded that the claim that a Pakistani origin migrant woman made violent remarks are FALSE.
