FAKE: Video showing Islamabad court explosion is AI-generated
Several India based social media users shared a video claiming to show the aftermath inside the canteen of a district court in Islamabad after an explosion.
At least 12 people were killed and thirty others were injured after an explosion in a vehicle parked outside a court building in Islamabad, federal capital of Pakistan.
Government officials termed it a ‘suicide attack’; however, India based social media users have been spreading disinformation after the incident.

A user on X, formerly Twitter, posted a video, captioned, “BREAKING: Massive sExplosion reported at a court in Islamabad…False Flag of Asim Munir. Join teligram For Brutal video of Blast. Story developing.”
The video has been viewed 384,000 times.
The video was also posted on similar Indian based and pro Afghan accounts seen here, here, and here.
Fact Check Pakistan determined the video is AI-generated.
The video show the timestamp as 9:23:18. However, according to media reports, Pakistan’s interior minister Mohsin Naqvi said the incident occurred at 12:39 pm.

A closer looks shows a voice dubbing in Urdu of people screaming ‘Run, run. Towards the door.’ CCTV footages do not have audio and the recordings have been added.
There is no damage after the explosion and the people continue to walk around. There are several fires that erupt simultaneously after the explosion with minimal damage.
The video was also posted by an India based X user on November 4, which predates the incident.
The video has the hallmarks of being generated by AI tools, and hence deemed fake. Fact Check Pakistan analyzed the video through AI detection video software.
Thus, the claims that video shows an explosion at the Islamabad court are FALSE.
